Star Pro was created by Texas Farm Products Company (now TFP Nutrition) as part of its commitment to advancing animal nutrition beyond the farm and into the home. By the mid-1980s, TFP had already earned a trusted reputation in livestock and equine feeds through its Lone Star brand. Seeing a new generation of pet owners demanding the same quality nutrition for their dogs and cats that ranchers expected for their livestock, the company developed a new line dedicated exclusively to companion animals, and Star Pro was born.
