Commitment to Quality

Our manufacturing processes are built on a foundation of rigorous, science-based food safety protocols. Through decades of experience and commitment to innovation, we’ve developed a comprehensive food safety system that reflects our unwavering dedication to quality. From raw materials to finished products, we maintain continuous oversight—monitoring, testing, and refining every step.

Everyone at TFP Nutrition is accountable for upholding our quality standards. Each day, our quality technicians focus on product consistency while our logistics personnel carefully coordinate clean and safe packaging and delivery, all the way to your doorstep.

Certifications

Throughout the manufacturing process we strictly follow our independently approved food safety plan to proactively identify and control potential hazards. Quality excellence isn’t just a goal—it’s a standard, affirmed through rigorous third-party inspections and audits that ensure our products consistently meet or exceed industry expectations.

SQF is a globally recognized food safety certification administered by the Safe Quality Food Institute and benchmarked by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). It provides independent verification that our products, processes, and services meet regulatory standards. SQF certification assures that food has been produced, prepared, and handled according to the highest safety and quality standards throughout the supply chain.

Developed by the American Feed Industry Association, the Safe Feed/Safe Food certification sets rigorous standards for the production of safe animal feed. Achieving SF/SF certification demonstrates our company’s commitment to feed safety and consumer confidence. The program exceeds regulatory requirements and complements the FDA’s risk-based approach, ensuring that certified facilities consistently produce safe, high-quality feed products.

A2LA accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025 confirms that a laboratory is competent to perform specific biological testing activities. This third-party certification verifies that a lab operates impartially, consistently, and in compliance with international standards. Accreditation ensures that our lab’s management system is fully documented and functional, meeting all applicable requirements from A2LA, ISO, and relevant regulatory bodies.

Testing

Our on-site labs are equipped for action — we test ingredients daily for nutritional accuracy and safety. This allows us to identify and address issues in real time, ensuring products meet our strict specifications before they reach our customers.

Mycotoxins

Mycotoxins are naturally occurring toxins produced by mold and are commonly associated with grains. Inbound grain and grain products are sampled prior to receipt and tested for the commonly occurring mycotoxins associated with those materials, such as aflatoxin, vomitoxin, fumonisin. Any load that tests higher than FDA action, advisory, or recommendation levels will be rejected.

Microbial Testing

TFP Nutrition conducts frequent microbiological testing on finished products and throughout the production environment. This also includes swab testing before and after cleaning to verify sanitation effectiveness and ensure both facility cleanliness and product safety. These routine checks are a critical part of our food safety system, supporting our commitment to deliver consistently safe, high-quality nutrition.

Hold for Release Program

TFP practices routine finished product sampling and pathogen testing of its pet foods. During packaging, samples are automatically collected and compiled for analysis. These samples are tested in our on-site, A2LA-accredited microbiology lab to ensure product safety and quality.

Meanwhile, finished product is held for shipping until product tests are complete. Every pet food product must meet the rigorous requirements of our Hold for Release Program before it enters distribution.
