Bud Wright
CEO
On the day he was born, M.S. Wright, Sr., founder of Texas Farm Products Company, declared that his new grandson, M.S. (Bud) Wright, III, would one day run the family business. Following his graduation from the University of Texas, Bud joined TFP as a full-time employee in 1976. He began his career in Customer Service and later was an ingredient buyer, General Manager of the Pet Food Division, and Senior Vice President. In 1991, Mr. Wright’s prophesy was fulfilled when Bud was elected President and CEO. Bud’s son, Ben, was promoted to President on January 21, 2020. Bud continues to hold the position of CEO.
Bud currently serves on board of the Pet Food Institute where he served as chairman from 2012-2015. He also currently serves on the boards of the American Feed Industry Insurance Company, the Stephen F. Austin State University Foundation and the Nacogdoches Economic Development Corporation. He is a past board member of the American Feed Industry Association, Nacogdoches Booster Club and Nacogdoches Medical Center. In 2004, Bud was named Man of the Year in Texas Agriculture, District 5, by the Texas County Agriculture Agents Association. Over the past 30 years Bud has served numerous terms as an elder of Grace Bible Church and has been a member of Nacogdoches Rotary Club.
Bud and his wife, Kathy, are grateful to have their two sons, Steele and Ben, along with their son-in-law, Josh Evans, actively involved in the family business.
“Food safety is at the forefront of the pet food and feed industries at this time. We are committed to allocating the necessary resources to continuously improve and offer the safest, most nutritious products possible. We realize consumers are entrusting us with a huge responsibility to provide the nutrition their pets or commercial animals need. We embrace that challenge every day. And every day I have the pleasure of feeding my two 15-year-old rescue cats, Spooky and Spunky.”
