JOB PURPOSE

Utilize food safe cleaning techniques to properly clean and maintain the production and warehouse facilities.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports to Food Safety Coordinator.
  • Clean and maintain manufacturing equipment.
  • Clean and maintain process environment.
  • Clean and maintain grounds.
  • Clean and maintain warehouse environment.
  • Know and abide by the cleaning techniques in the Cleaning SOP.
  • Know and abide by TFP safety rules and programs.
  • Know and abide by TFP’s Food Safety Program.
  • Paint equipment and building structures as needed.
  • Minor maintenance functions such as caulking etc.
  • Be able to report pest and rodent activities.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Operate pressure washer.
  • Work in high places off ladders and scaffolding.
  • Any other duties assigned by management.
  • Be trained and fully qualified in the FSM and HACCP food safety program.

AUTHORITY

To act within established limits and works closely with all staff supervisors especially the Food Safety Coordinator.   A vacancy in this position will most likely go un-filled if it is temporary but if necessary the fill-in employee will be trained in all procedures relevant to this position.  There will be times when all plant employees will be performing plant sanitation and maintenance.  Plant management will be available for assistance and guidance if issues arise that have not been covered or understood through training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Good physical condition with the ability to handle heavy objects and do repetitious jobs.
  • Work in an uncontrolled environment both inside the facility and on the grounds.
  • Be able to drive a forklift.
  • Be able to climb a ladder.
  • Be able to wear required personal protective equipment as needed.

COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS

  • Work with others well.
  • Work unsupervised.
  • Know the sanitation programs and follow them.
  • Know the chemical control program.
  • Know the glass and plastic program.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work environment is not controlled and is subject to seasonal extremes.
  • Can be dusty.
  • Can be noisy.
  • Can be elevated.
